The pro-left Sinhala language weekly “Lanka” was out on the stands today days after it was sealed by police in connection with certain articles that were published in late January, a spokesperson for the paper said today.
The Gangodawila Magistrate Anura Kumara Herath this week removed the seal order after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) failed to produce further evidence against the newspaper
The paper came out a day late after the regular private company that handled the printing of the paper was forced to pull out following threats from certain quarters, the spokesperson said.(LB)
