If the government is willing to implement a fair solution for Tamil people in north, United National Party will give its almost support, UNP Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya said.

“UNP was the first political Party that kept faith on decentralization of power. We still believe in that. 13th amendment still has the capacity to make a political solution for the national crisis. So if the Government is willing to make a political solution based on 13th amendment, as a political party we will provide our utmost support to make it a success. So if the government is ready to give them a fair solution, it would not face any difficulty to find a two thirds majority in the parliament” the deputy leader added.

He further explained that it is a tradition in politics, to support a government on a historic occasion like this. “We provide this support without any Hypocrisy. And also we would not make unwanted demands. But it is pathetic, if the government does not want to go on with it. Though some people are not much interested in this, they will surely have to ask for our support in the future” he said.
