Chairman of the Jathika Nidahas Peramuna, MP Wimal Weerawansa will join the cabinet next month, reliable political sources told Lanka News Today.

A special discussion on this will take place at temple trees next week and the final decisions on the minister portfolio will be made after the discussion.

President Mahinda Rajapakse has invited Jathika Nidahas Permanuna to join the cabinet and JNP has also shown a favourable response for the offer. “Now the war is over and we need to take part in the ‘rebuilding’ process. Now the government has to face so many global and economic challenges and as a patriotic political party we will strengthen its hands” a party spokesman told Lanka News Today.

Jathika Nidahas Peramuna signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SLFP on 28th of December last year towards eradicating terrorism.
